so I can afford to eat/drink in the Restaurant at the AL con on Saturday.
That looks an expensive restaurant! I was debating doing the same myself, but there's me and the 2 girls...
For quick snacks such as toasted sarnies, there is a Nero's and a Costa very close to the hotel, or you can go to Orchard Square (a couple of minutes walk) where there is a small "street food" food hall called Sheffield Plate, a Bubble tea shop, another Costa, a cafe/bar (above Sheffield Plate, but I forget the name), Proove Pizza, a coffee snack bar in Waterstones, a Subway, and a couple of pubs that serve food.
MaccieD's is at the bottom of Fargate, just a few more minutes walk, with Wendy's just a bit further (but watch out for the rough sleepers/beggars).
There's a small coffee bar in the Millennium Gardens (adjacent to the hotel) but I'm not sure what food it serves, if any.
The problem with Maccie D's or Wendy's, is that if you go in at lunch time, it takes about 5 hours to get served because of all the shop/office workers on their lunch break.
I don't beee-lieve it!

Possibly a new Library book (or if they have it in, a DVD on Ballroom dancing) from the Central Library in Town tomorrow, I have 2 books that are due back next week anyway, so I may as well take them back early.
And while I'm in Town, I might nip in St Paul's (venue for the AL con this weekend) and check out the prices in the Restaurant.
I don't beee-lieve it!

£10 Uber Fare to FedEx place in Attercliffe this morning (£10 Uber fare? Eh? I wouldn't mind but if I'd known it was next door to Valley Centertainment I'd have got the Tram!), a cheese sandwich, bag of crisps and a coffee, and then a chocolate bar and a TV Choice mag from the paper shop on Arundel Gate.
I was in Tesco about to purchase a packet of AA batteries for £8, when the support lady told me there was several packets of batteries in the drawer at Home! Why didn't she tell ne that before I went in the flippin' Tesco? Good job I was in dire need of a wee, otherwise I wouldn't have gone in to begin with.
I don't beee-lieve it!

£5 Taxi fare to the Mercure Hotel in Town this morning, idiot Taxi bloke thought I wanted Poundland! If I did I'd have got the Tram, clown! And then later on, I bought a Ploughman's lunch, bag of crisps and an Orange J2O, and after a couple of hours, I bought a chocolate Baileys from the Bar (I don't normally drink Whisky, or Alcohol in general during the day but I needed a drink, the support woman was being annoying)
£12 for lunch? Eh? Fortunately I know from experience that "posher" venues such as the St Paul's do tend to be expensive so I took plenty of cash.
And then another £6 Taxi fare to come back.
I don't beee-lieve it!

Coffee and a bacon sarnie from Greggs
