Oh at work I made a widget.
Often times at work I have to generate a guid. Guid is "globally unique identifier" and it looks like this 359a28f6-4e07-47a9-b5be-7b5cbef88bd7
People at work seem to have different ways that they do this.
My boss uses SSMS and runs SELECT NEWID()

Today I got tired of it and spent 5 minutes to make a little app to do it and can sit on my desktop in plain sight and I just click a button and it copies a new guid onto my clipboard.
It's stupidly simple and simply stupid but it's exciting. The stupid progress we make simply is sometimes the most satisfying.

There are hypothetical figures I would buy though. I guess I can see if they exist yet.

I have the sig but not the avy. That is unfortunate.

I tried the 2/3 piece of that sheng puerh at less steep time. It did cut the bitterness but I've decided I just don't like the taste as much anyway.

I just bought this for $20

I wouldn't have bought it for 40, but for 20 it's a nice painting.

That frame is hella ugly though, I'm taking that thing out and displaying it without a frame. I have several other unframed canvas paintings anyway.

I also found a native American weaving and bought it. The guy I bought it from says it's authentic and the order of the colors and shapes indicates which tribe made it. Maybe I'll post it on a relevant subreddit to ask about it. Even if it's not authentic, I like it. I'll post that if it get it hung up today.

The guy said it's authentic Native American and it sure looks and feels like it but I wouldn't know. I'll try to find out though.

I got a response to my reddit post on r/NativeAmerican. So far it looks to be an authentic Navajo pictorial tree of life.

And googling Navajo tree of life, it seems like it might be worth 3 or 4 times what I bought it for. Not that I want to sell it. I like it.

I've started to think about updating my resume and being open to new jobs.

Updating my resume involves dev work itself though, because really it's my portfolio site that's the best thing for me. I should update it. I should make it easier to update. I looked a little bit at getting a server to put in my laundry room but that's too much money I don't need to spend. So is cloud hosting. Static websites are cheap though and you can do a lot with javascript. I hate javascript, so I'm not as enthused by that, but it's like 99% cheaper. That's what my portfolio site is now and I only pay...$40/year for it. Buying an old server for $400 would take 10 years to pay for itself. Fuck that. Javascript it is I guess.
