almost done with DQ1

think one or two more sessions and it'll be 100% complete!

prolly stream most of that Sat night

work has been rather tiresome

they did another purge/lay off of many salary folks

which has morale low

i am hourly and union, so i am not worried

but it does make the work harder when those that remain are swamped with work and constantly worried that they'll be purged in the next thursday batch

my partners brother adopted a baby a bit ago and the baby turns one soon

so have a 1 yhear olds bday to attend soon

what do you gift a 1 year old? theyre still so small, i doubt they have preferences of their own yet

maybe something more for mom/dad?

Maybe get a pack of Nappies, er I mean Diapers, or a dummy (Pacifier) for a 1 year old? Or maybe a Baby rattle?

I did get a pack of nappies for them back when the baby was adopted, or else i would have def done that for this birthday

ended up finding a bear like sweater/blanket thing?

Yeah when there that young mostly nappies, maybe little toys they can play with keeps them preoccupied.

Bear eared sweater was a hit

birthday party was quite boring

but hey, it happens

work has been stressful

hoping to see this halo program succeed but theyre starting to become a really big mess

been having fun streaming my DQ run of the 1&2 remake

into DQ2 now, but havent gotten the full band together yet

have smashed my reading goal for the year already and it aint even december

looking forward to see how many more i can reasonably fit in, without giving up time from other hobbies

saw hamilton, was a lot of fun live

next show is more kpop, gonna see Key from SHINee

that'll be a crazy one

SHINee , have headr some its song not a fan but dont hate it either
as for gift If i am not too late to answer , get the toddler some playable those that make noise , the kid will enjoy it
at least my neigbors did

SHINee is my ultimate kpop group, love them all
So, am very excited to see one of the members live on his solo tour here in the US

For gift, got the kid a bear eared hoodie thing for kids

With new stuff coming out in Jan for series I enjoy, want to be sure I did watch everything else leading up to the new
Mostly done with my gift shopping for the holidays
Started putting up some decorations
Once the current windchill passes, will put up more outdoor candycane lights

I'm finally over my sinus cold, blasted cold weather doesn't help. Not to mention all the snow.

Have not been updating in here much
To tell the truth, been a bit....meh
Between Thanksgiving and New Years, all I tend to get is bombarded with memories of those now departed
Used to spend Thanksgiving with Uncle Tommy/Aunt Pat (my moms oldest brother, who was really more of a grandfather figure to me due to age gap and mannerisms), but now both have passed
My bandmate Russ lost his fight with depression right after Thanksgiving
My stepfather Greg lost his battle with cancer first week of December
Second week of December means my Uncle Tommy's birthday, but since he was killed in a hit and run last year that now is just another memory day
Then Christmas week is when we lost his wife, my dear Aunt Pat to her fight with cancer
Lastly, New Years, day biodad called me to explain why he never showed for xmas feast I made him, my last attempt to reach out to him, where he not only bailed for his gfs family again, but didnt even have the decency to answer my calls or texts for days....so i finally went low contact with him, only for him to grow ill in January and pass this past summer.

I always hated this time of year growing up because my family was poor and unfriendly/not togetherish
This meant there was no money for holidays, parents were always working, etc etc
It's actually why my sign up date for AL is Christmas
I tried to see if any friends were free to play, or neighborhood kids, but all of them had tons of big family holiday plans and were confused that i did not
My parents worked retail, so it was their "one day of rest" and the only rule was to not bother them
So when I was a bored and lonely kid on Christmas who got an email about anime forums
I checked it out
and signed up
as MiyuTokaru taking my FLCL obsession to the max by using the cat MiyuMiyu and mixing Haruko and Takkun together into Tokaru
and I wasn't so alone and bored anymore
Over the years I switched to MiyuToku or Miyu! and finally Tuffin, but either way....20 years on here quickly approaches
And while I haven't always lived here 24/7, I have always been able to return when feeling a bit alone

Glad to be here this time of year
