Thank You For Attending London Anime & Gaming Con - Photos, Stories & Reactions

I went last year for the first time and, unfortunately, I found it disappointing on many different levels.
I want to premise that I don't go to this type of events for the cosplay parade, the voice actors or star guests and talks ect, so I won't include that in my disappointment. All I like to do is to buy mangas, action figures, prop replicas and stuff like that, general browsing of merch panels, playing some retro games and, of course, I appreciate some amazing cosplayers too.
That said, I was very excited by the advertisement on the website homepage, saying "The UK's largest Anime Con", and having just been to MCM Comic con, I was ecstatic to see an even larger convention. Obviously it wasn't the case. Not only it was much smaller than MCM (in terms of purely anime related stuff), but I found the Hotel location to be the worst possible location for such a convention. I've been to many different comic cons in my life and it was always in huge spaces used for fairs and events of this kind. Never, ever in a hotel. It was hot, claustrophobic, heavily crowded, hard to move freely. The only thing that was up to anime cons standards was the ground floor convention room with the stage and merch panels; seen it all in 5 minutes, but well placed and spacious. The rest of it was simply sad.
There was only one bar serving food (very few options and, honestly, not very good ones either) not even vaguely related to the theme of the convention. I Saw the whole thing in about 45 minutes, bought an action figure from one of the two panels selling them... I'll let that sink in, only 2 panels with action figures in what is defined "The UK's largest Anime Con", and left. Some members of the staff were rude and visibly not happy to be there.

I won't be back this year as the location is the same, which is a shame. Many friends of mine told me the same exact thing.

So this was my son's first ever anime con and tbh even though I had no idea to what most of the anime was (sorry about that) the community is amazing and the day was alot of fun.

The Dungeon and dragons session was my favourite part as I knew what that was 😁.

If I was to give any criticism it would be the staff need to sort out the flow of public before it opens not half way through the day, for example were the meet and great was at the main entrance to start with you could just walk through, but as it got busy all of a sudden staff are trying to put up bits of paper and trying to guide people were to go and just telling people to go another way but there was no instructions of were to actually go.

Maybe future events you hold this should be considered in the walk round before the event and have a flow system in place so everyone knows from the time they enter.

Thanks for a great day.

Hi there!

Thanks for your feedback. We are aware that we do need to put more signage up during the events. We always thought there was enough information and banners to show directions, but understand we just need to put more signage out everywhere to make things for clearer. We are going to work on this for future events.

I'm glad you enjoyed your time and hope to see you at another event! ^_^

Obviously didn’t read post properly. No won’t be attending again as the staff were horrendous and location is awful.

Yeah I've been to a few other cons in rubbish venues (most notably at the Allam Sports Centre in Hull in November 2022, and both times I went to Barnsley Metrodome)
I don't beee-lieve it!

Hardly seems your business to be commenting on the response to someone else's feedback? Are you sure you've not gotten confused somewhere?
