Sorry to hear that! I understand why they are striking but sometimes I do think it is overboard like they've been striking all year and nothing has really happened when will they stop because it is just affecting everyone else around them

That's alright. Things happen for a reason.
Instead I decided to find and beautiful room to rent for a reasonable price
and wonderful standards.

So I finally got a new room that I will be renting and at a reasonable price. I went there today to see the amount of work that needs to be done to make the room to my standards.
Luckily all that needs doing is a new bed and a lot of cleaning. Also possible painting but I want to wait till I've washed the walls first before painting anything.

So I visited the room last weekend and gave it another look over and decided that before I paint anything I will be cleaning everything. Cleaning the walls, cleaning the windows, cabinets and even the carpets.

Def a good idea. Even if your landlord has cleaned after the last tenant, never hurts to be thorough.

@Ojisama The landlord had did not clean a thing. The room wall was ravaged with spiderwebs, mould and the fat and oil in the cupboards. Only place that was decent was the fridge.

Hire one of those steam cleaner things for the carpets/soft furnishings. It will probably also help remove grease etc from the kitchen area. Shared bathroom? If not, use it in there as well. Hoover the mattress and spray with disinfectant/insecticide/flea killer (Use on carpets as well). Had a bad experience once with a rented room that looked quite clean, but was infested with fleas.

Wow. I have actually moved into a new place and I don't feel completely happy but leaving home.
I know that it is for the best and it is a necessary change but this actually hurts at the moment.
For the first time in years I feel like crying a little bit but I know that I have to be the strong one
and I know I can get over it.

So I'm about 3 or 4th week into my new place and it's all going to smoothly.
I will be getting my TV set up this week and I will be signing up for either my own Netflix or
Disney+
