Taking children's stories and turning them into horror films seems to be a trend at the moment.

First, we had Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey.

Now we have The Mean One, where The Grinch is a Serial Killer. The trailer offers the first proper look at the upcoming Christmas horror movie, introducing audiences to heroine Cindy-You-Know-Who as she seeks revenge on The Grinch for killing her parents as a child and stopping the humbug in the middle of his killing spree.



OK yes, it is a parody so there will be humour as well as scary bits, but the man responsible for Blood & Honey (Rhys Frake-Waterfiel) is also working on two more horror projects based on Peter Pan and (wait for it) Bambi. No details available, but we can imagine a Queens of the Stone Age version where Bambi steals are car and rides into town to take revenge for the death of his mother.
