2000 years ago, the then Emperor moved to his new Capital, and the once Shining City of AnimeLeagos became the playground of Monsters and Demons. Beneath the abandoned Temple, a vast labyrinth came into being. A Dungeon inhabited by the foulest of monsters, and legions of the undead.
Under orders from the present Emperor, a detachment of Holy Knights is attempting to clear the dungeon and reclaim the relics that were hidden in the tunnels below the Temple. Having worked their way through passages and rooms inhabited by Beasts, Goblins and Wandering Spirits, the party of Knights face their biggest challenge thus far.
The crypt is a large columned room, tens of meters below ground. The air is thick with the smell of mould and damp. There are also other smells. The sweet stench of decaying flesh. The metallic tang of fresh blood. Your nose is the only organ supplying any information, because the room is in absolute darkness, and not a sound can be heard.
The knights throw torches into the impenetrable darkness, but they immediately flicker and die. The darkness and the smell bear down on the senses like a leaden blanket. Smothering all thought and emotion other than fear.
But the darkness and the smell offer up a clue. Commanding the party is a Cleric of much experience, and he knows that what might be lying in wait, and it won't be alone. Gathering his Sub-commanders, he gives his orders.
Waiting in the darkness is a Wraith, and the subordinates it commands.
10 Zombies, 5 Skeletons, 3 Ghosts and the Wraith itself.
Entering the room would mean certain death for even the most skilful of Knights. The power of the Wraith is such that AOE attacks would be useless. The only answer is pinpoint accurate attacks that will overwhelm the defence of the monstrous undead, but in the darkness, these attacks would have to be fired at random until a target is identified.
The knights take up their positions, and the dreadful gamble unfolds.
