Many years ago it was shown on BBC 2 one Saturday night, quite good I thought, I then bought it on Blu Ray.

Set in a Dystopian future Neo-Japan.

Yep, that would be me.

Indeed, it was ground-breaking when it first appeared, and is still revered as the seminal anime that introduced the media to the west. Up until then, anime was limited to poorly dubbed children's series, or even worse American productions of Japanese originals.

I've seen it, oh yes. It was definitely different, especially the ancient-looking children waiting for his return. Nice motorcycles.

Same; in fact, I think that was where I first saw it, I think, on the BBC late Saturday night. One of my first anime experiences too.
