I've only recently got Netflix, and Virgin have messed up the payments, so I'm blocked atm. I haven't watched the first series, but will be bingeing it as soon as my access is restored.

I tried watching the first...I don't remember much about GitS but I wondered whether it fit into the rest of the story or if it's separated. In any case, I didn't like the setup or the animation and I gave up after 10 minutes.
