Ive played 3 hours of FFX so far looking alright so far, id imagine the game is still early days but I am liking it so far! Let's see what the rest of the game holds. Also kind of hoping it gets a lot more challenging I haven't received a lot of action fighting wise besides a couple of boss fights and obvs some monster encounters along the way

Have you fought Sinspawn Echuilles yet on the boat to Kilika? There's plenty of challenge waiting though, that's for sure.

The story is pretty straight forward. But there is a lot of side quests and optional bosses you can do along the way. Like collecting optional Aeons and defeating the "dark" Aeons. There's also a monster arena place about half way through the game where you get special weapons that can "capture" monsters when you defeat them. The arena then breeds them into new monsters you can fight, the last few of which are basically really hard super bosses. You also get items for capturing monsters. The main thing you need is the Dark Matter reward for capturing 10 of every monster in the game. That lets you raise the damage limit on your weapons from 9999 to 99,999, which is a bit important if you want fight things with 10,000,000HP

You picked the right game for this sort of thing. Since 10 was the last turn based Final Fantasy they went all out with the extras. If you just want to follow the story and get to the end then you can ignore all that stuff though.

@Heyitslaurenk Makes me want to mention this. That chest that's by the woman on the left on the dock can't be opened. lol Not sure about you but I kept thinking it was something I could get. XD I guess it's just where she keeps her shop's items. The fiends there don't really drop anything useful, which you'd think the Killer Bees would drop Poisontouch equipment but they don't. Poisonward armor though, so that might be worth trying to collect as an excuse for grinding. The Sphere Grid is so huge so I just grind away whenever. lol Especially when there's drops that might be useful. It'll be quite a while til you get to Customize equipment so I always figured why not. Still enjoying the game so far btw?

I've got to get the motivation together to finish the grind for the last two super bosses in the game for the final PS trophies! Sphere grid is already optimised, just need the armour!

You can't really grind all the way. There's a shortcut you can take later on. In the monster arena there's a giant tonberry with an attack that does damage based on how many enemies you've killed (up to a limit). With weapon abilities like Triple AP and overdrive to AP you get hundreds of spheres very quickly by getting hit with that attack a few times. You still need to kill enough enemies before hand to make it work, but you don't actually need to do that much grinding to max out the sphere grid. Well, you still need to grind specific enemies to harvest items and stuff. But you don't need to grind for AP.

omg I hope I can get a Switch for Xmas, but that's not looking likely. Might just be able to get games tho or maybe a gift card. lol Or a blu-ray player as my single Xmas present. XD Finances are precarious this year.
