SQL yes but a variety of them

While there are similarities there’s enough differences it makes it a pain at times.
Everyone wants to be special I guess. I remember I had a WTF afternoon the first time I encountered Microsoft's T-SQL thing. :worry:

I'm sure you could figure it out if you had to. It can get really complicated if you need to join multiple tables in clever ways or have a giant database and need to optimize queries so they don't take 10 hours to run. But the basics are pretty easy.

It can be useful in everyday life too. Many apps these days store data in sqlite databases, including firefox and chrome. So knowing a bit of SQL to extract data from those databases can be useful. Even if it's just to hack your friend's facebook account ;)

Efficiency is the most difficult part to get right.

Joining can be tricky at times too.

Too bad how you need to write SQL differs for those pending on which SQL your using

SQL Bleh delt with that in school
Well I write sql pretty much all day

I'd die but I missed a lot because I was sick so it was hard to remember.
That would definitely make it harder.

I dunno SQL isn't about remembering that much. But hey each of us has our own strengths. So you needn't worry about it.

Considering for once I have little leisure time today, I'm going to spend it relaxing reading a book, likely a light novel and probably just reread a series so I can pick up on might of missed and be ready for the next light novel.

What kinds of things have you been reading?
I feel like I should read more light novels. I've only ever read Haruhi and Spice & Wolf. :sweatdrop:

Haruhi
I haven’t read either of those but they probably are good light novels. I must confess I wasn’t impressed with the anime based on them.

I’ve read a variety of light novels not a lot.

Log Horizon is a good LN series. I’ve read Youki Senki, Ascendance of Bookworm, The Last Alchemist plus a few others.

They are Fantasy. Some are Isekai others aren’t. I haven’t read any that’s the same as the Anime and not all have an Anime.

In My Next Life Make My Abilities Average anime is terrible in my opinion and is loosely based on the LN. The LN is one I’ve read and like.

What kind are you interested in?

On the other hand castles and princesses type fantasy stuff is not really my thing.
I thought about reading the Haganai light novel. I love the way Sena and Yozora constantly fight about everything in the anime
But yeah, my original point was that haruhi and spice and wolf are pretty mainstream. I feel like I should read something more substantial.

Youjo Senki is the only one that isn’t a fantasy setting. Though few them actually have castles and princesses in them.

Youjo Senki is set during World War I with different country names but you can figure out which is which. But it does have mages. The mages fight using guns.

Other technology exists too like planes and trains.

The story is about a man reborn from a world like ours with no magic from modern Japan as an orphan girl as punishment for not believing in God.

So this story revolves around the bad guy not the good guys.

That makes it’s interesting.

The LN goes into a lot of details about the time. Despite it being fictional it gives insight on how World War I was possibly like.

The others I’ve read are based in Fantasy worlds or partially based in them.

Outer Ranga is a bit out there. It’s a partial. In that light novel a team of IT specialists in the modern age is attempting to stop a virus from taking over all the world’s computer systems. It was installed through an online game an ultra difficult one. They’ve discovered the only way to completely stop it is to shape the events in the game to occur positively and destroy the Vampires.

The game is set in a fantasy world a grim one.

As for Light Novels that’s all I’ve read that you might be interested in reading. I know others who read LNs and can ask them though.

Oh wait there is a Science Fiction one I’ve read.

It involves galactic space battles but on a small scale as it revolves around two characters of different species.

Crest of Stars and Banner of Stars

You might be familiar with the anime. They have similarities and differences. The LN goes more in-depth on the various events and background.

You’d almost call this just a novel since it has no pictures in it but they aren’t long so a young adult novel.

I also read historical romance but not as much as I used too.
historical romance, hmm I’ve read a few of those. Never read a typical romance novel though.

Romance isn’t a genre I’m typically interested in reading. Historical though has other aspects to them that are interesting. Still romance is something that is interesting just not whole books on it.

Stories about survival are intriguing reads too. I’m taking about the nonfiction and fiction reads.

Tragedy recently struck me again. I was in an accident last weekend and my mobility at the moment is practically nonexistent. So far it sounds like I’ll recover it.

The pain is difficult to deal with at times. So after work I just want to rest. Oh and the injury is just my right leg. But this means I’m not capable of driving.

Considering my lack of mobility many every day tasks have become difficult or impossible to complete on my own.

Luckily my boss agreed to set me up with remote working immediately.

My brother and his wife is letting me stay at their house and taking care of the things I cannot do right now.

My mother is house sitting my house and taking care of it.

So I must confess I’m fortunate since my family came to my aid when I needed them.
