I lived in a town called Meeker, Colorado for a while. It was so quiet, you could hear the raven's wings as they flew by. Now, ravens are naturally both huge and smart birds, so when you interact with them, you see them testing the waters regarding you. Are you dangerous? Do you have food? Well, just to see how smart they were, one day I made a show of leaving some wild rice I hadn't finished out. I heard that ravens will scan for food and call the squad once they find some. Well, sure enough the ravens came, flocking into a nearby tree. They all did something odd, though: they all, one by one, hopped down, looked at my open window, cawwed exactly one time, and began to eat. All of them did exactly the same thing: a single drop, turn to face my apartment, caw, then start eating. I thought I was high or something, but after the 5th or 6th one, you kinda notice.
