Mario 35th Anniversary Direct

Today some MASSIVE announcements were made for the Mario 35 year anniversary! Watch the video below, or read my little summary!

- Super Marios Bros Game & Watch. Comes with the original game (with 35 Easter Eggs!), the Lost Levels, and a Mario version of a Game & Watch game

- Super Mario 3D World comes to Switch, along with the expansion of "Bowser's Fury"! (12.02.21)

- Super Marios Bros. 35 will be playable for Switch online members for a limited time (October 1st - March 31st 2021)! Compete with 35 people, and win items to try to beat them!

- Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit will allow people to control physical karts, and make courses in your own home!

- Mario Kart Tour will be having an event starting 9th September.

- 35 year anniversary merchandise will be available later this year.

- Special anniversary course will be coming to Super Mario Maker 2.

- Smash Ultimate will have a Super Mario online tournament in November/December.

- Mario themed Splatfest will be coming to Splatoon 2 in January, as well as splatfest goods.

- Super Mario furniture will be added to Animal Crossing: New Horizons

- Mario Monopoly with Hasbro, a Mario Lego set, a Lego set of the NES, Mario toys in Kinder Joy products are available.

- A collection titled "Super Mario All Stars" is coming to the SNES Online feature, featuring Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 2, Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario Bros. Lost Levels later today.

- The one we've all been waiting for - Super Mario 3D All Stars! This is a bundle which includes ports of Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario Galaxy! This will be available both physically and digitally, but again only for a limited time. Comes out 18th September, and preorders are available from today!

Literally nothing interesting, not that that's surprising. Even less surprising, no actual new games.

It was funny how hard they gave Galaxy 2 the middle finger, though.

Also they don't even hide their shameless forced scarcity anymore, now it's a feature they brag about.

Some people are really bummed about Galaxy 2 missing, but i'm just like laughing? I found Galaxy 2 to be utterly awful

Yeah Galaxy 2 is as divisive as Sunshine. People either love it or hate it.

This news was basically my entire Twitter feed yesterday and its hilarious because I've spotted a few now that are like "pffftt this is a stupid idea why should get a bundle..." blah blah blah then later they went "JUST PRE ORDERED THE BUNDLE GUYS"

Cant see loads and loads of people getting the All Stars Bundle considering a lot of people own the games already (massive assumption based on lots of my friends owning at least one of these). For me, this is not really the case so I personally think its a good deal- I'm seriously considering it!

To be fair I don't actively look to but Mario games on the switch,( mainly because they are sooo expensive :/ ) so I hadn't realised that Galaxy isn't on the switch until the bundle became available to preorder. But yeah, out of the three, I will probably be playing the hell out of Galaxy- mainly because my friend keeps going on about it so I want to try it

I just genuinely don't understand why people are complaining about it being limited edition. It's available for SIX MONTHS, that's plenty of time!

I mean... ok, yeah I kind of get it why some people won't be happy about this. But equally I think some will be just as pissed if the graphics were changed. Things like "I GREW UP ON MARIO HOW DARE THEY CHANGE THE LOOK OF THE GAMES"

Been hearing the rumours about that collection for some time via SpawnWave. Even tho I never really owned a nintendo console, I am still happy I can finally play those 3 mario games on the switch. It was that or just emulate them on my pc
