Was there a time you couldn't? I'm not sure. We can use Gifs for Avatars now, though. Thanks Teeny

Microsoft Office is used in all kinds of settings. VBA is how you get more use out of what Microsoft Office products can do out of the box. MS Documentation is actually fairly good on it. Truthfully stack-overflow and stuff like that isn't as good. It'll actually mess you up more.Momogari wrote: ↑03 Jun 2020, 11:03
Vba is terrible. Its convenient and powerful only because its in excel. Its one of the worst documented languages I know and excel doesn't provide anything approaching an ide for it so its awful to work in.
Maybe there's a vs plugin that makes it less frustrating idk.
Its one of those legacy dinosaurs that ain't been broke ain't been fixed aint been touched. I guess there's no money in making excel nicer when the money is in shit like power bi and power automate and the people who need vba--which is honestly still a lot of people--can just use stackoverflow and rely on the specialists that have to use it every day and know it already.
VBA isn't a dead language either it continues to change as Office products do. Mostly it remains the same.
C# has replaced VBA outside of Microsoft Office products. That is dead and a legacy and awful to use. Why would there be a dedicated IDE for a language used in Microsoft Office products only? It doesn't much make sense.
But the fact is there are IDEs that support the Legacy VBA. But that's the issue it's only for the VBA not used in Microsoft Office.
VBA actually differs from Excel, to Access, to Word. So you need to look at MS Documentation specifically for those. There are similarities though. So really VBA in those are really the programming language for those programs and are in themselves the IDE for them.

Object performed features like polymorphism and encapsulation are well and good to know and "trace", as you say, but until you really understand them it's hard to figure out how to use them.
I understand that, and I generally agree about tutorials.
For anything, really. Not just programming.
(that said, I do understand those features if you wanted to discuss them sometime)
Yeah sounds good thanks

That makes sense
I believe I'm going to start sharing stuff about the books I'm reading or have read recently. Guess I'll use a bunch of spoiler tags

Currently I'm reading Monster Tamer, it's also known as Master of Monsters, yes it's a Light Novel.

I'm not sure what think of it yet as I just started it.
It's a new volume J-Novel picked up. So far it seems interesting so I'll keep reading it.

Synopsis: wrote: Everyone in a high school is suddenly transported to another world. As they are attacked by monsters they find that some of the students now have superpowers. They organize themselves into two groups. Those without powers are called the Stay Home Group and those with them are called the Exploration Group. On a day where most of the Exploration Group is out, the remaining ones that stay behind start the slaughtering and raping of the Stay Home Group.
Here we meet our protagonist, an average guy with no abilities who had just barely escaped death at the hands of his schoolmates. He ends up far away in a cave on the verge of death, exhausted and wounded when a slime enters the cave and starts eating away at his hand. All he can do is utter, “…please… someone out there… help me….”

Well, I've read all that's available so far, and I'm not that impressed with it. I'm probably going to discontinue this one

So I just finished the last part of A Wild Last Boss Appeared! LN
I like this LN, so I'll probably buy this one and continue onto the next.
A Wild Last Boss Appeared! is an Isekai and the main character is OP, there's no way say she isn't. The main character's name is Lufas and she was resurrected or brought back into the world through use of ritual magic. Lufas started out as an Adventurer and work her way up to leading an army, then country and eventually conquered most of the world. Her closest allies betrayed her defeated her. Lufas is no stronger then she was then, then is now. She's different though.
Lufas is the character of a Japanese online player. He had grind her levels and eventually maxed them out at level 1000. He also lead armies to defeat all the other player's army. But now there weren't any armies to battle against. So he devised a plan with his closet allies to fight against him and try to spread everything out again so armies could fight again. He in other words wanted to continue having these battles. However, just as he was about to log back in as Lufas after she was defeated, an admin message came along and basically asked if he wanted Lufas to be part of a special event.
Next thing the Japanese man knew he was reborn in Lufas's world a couple hundred years later as Lufas. That's how the story begins.
How the first LN basically ends

I'm currently rereading and re watching Ascendance of a Bookworm. My LNs are half and half. Some are books and some are digital books. I believe the rest will be digital books. I would've stuck with actual books but digital books come out 3 months early for LNs and then some LNs never get an actual book release, just a digital one.
Luckily I discovered an excellent Ebook device. Light weight and easy to use and it holds a bunch of books on it. Resolution is really good too, images are all black and white.
