If you have them you'll feel them eventually. Sooner or later one will dislodge and cause a bloackage and I'm pretty sure there's no genetic variant that wouldn't feel that. Kidney stone blockage/passing pain is rated on par with childbirth.

Drugs are another key factor.

With kidney stones, you don't get the good childbirth drugs. Just standard painkillers that do virtually nothing.

Gallbladder attacks aren't fun.
