I’m still wondering why anyone cares about Facebook any more. It’s proven to be trash and unreliable.

For me the annoying thing is that I still remember when small companies etc. had their own websites. Nowadays some of them just have a fb account. So if one wants to check e.g. what's the next gig in a club, one must visit fb.

I remember someone telling me it was important to have a facebook so if you ever need a new job they can look into you and they get suspicious if you don't have one.

I set them straight.

For me a job interview is not for them to see if I'd be good for their business.... it's more to check see if the business is something worth my time. If a company marks me down for not having a facebook account I automatically dismiss the business.

Haha. Moulders always has an interesting perspective.

To clarify, though: I have a Facebook. Just don't use it.

I think everyone in the world did at one point.

I remember when everyone did and at its peak practically destroyed forums.

I've never had a fb account. :P

It was like:

"Oh what's this new facebook thing?"
"You can connect with your friends and you can change your status and talk to people etc."
"Oh, so a company wants to know who is my friend, what we talk about and what I do every day to sell my data to advertisers? Thank you, but no."

I've never had any employer ask me for my Facebook, LinkedIn, or any other social media site.

If they did, I would refuse.

About 18 months ago I deleted my Facebook account and it's one of the best decisions I've ever made. That place is a toxic nightmare.
