I know I said before that it was the real beginning when Sei stood at the court of the Mountain King, but now this feels like the real real beginning.

That said, bringing order to a stateless area with warring tribes in 4 months is fucking cool and so is meeting Ooki's challenge and winning the right to be trained by him.

Hey, I just noticed Fei Xin tai has matching metal loin skirts. But Xin isn't wearing it, I don't think. I mean, he didn't take time to get his own armor from home before going to the battlefield, but couldn't he have a skirt too?

Well, he does have a horse.

I wouldn't have counted at all had I not wanted to count the 14
The sleeves are also different--before the CM break, the backs of the soldiers are pretty much all sleeveless.
From the front after the CM break, over half have full sleeves.

The details aren't important of course. The important facts are the armys' composition, armament, training, tactical situation, and, as an anime, the heroes, especially Shin and Kyoukai. The show does take those seriously. 14 or 26 makes little difference story-wise.

On another note, the point about Moubu purposely easing the attack the first day to give the new infantry experience and confidence the second day is one of those details that make this the best military story I know by a large margin. No other military anime or manga that I know can compare to this.

Day 1 Qin fights for the general's head, with Kan Ou (had to look up his name) fully cognizant of Ooki's plan to use the Fei Xin Tai as a strike force to take the enemy tactician's head and turns the routed frontal assault into a piercing one specifically for that purpose.

Day 2 Moubu completely ignores taking the opposing general's head and uses the mistake to massacre enemy forces in an assault of attrition.

And Ooki sits on a hill using both of these. This is great.

Oh, here arrives Li Boku. The main villain of...the entire series that I know of. At least last time I caught up with the manga he was still alive and warring with Qin.
