[Bingefest] Itai no wa Iya nanode Bogyo-Ryoku ni Kyokufuri Shitai to Omoimasu
So Bingefest's are all probably going to be anime I've already watched, or not.
All my posts will have spoilers but nothing will be wrapped in spoiler tags or be hidden, nor will it be mentioned they are spoilers, as every post will be a spoiler. So you have been warned. I hope others don't hide or use spoiler tags either. I want to know, and want everyone else who reads this to know too. Please share comments, even if you disagree with mine, though, I'd like to know why you disagree. With this out of the way let's move on.
I'll use the Romanji name for all the anime I'm watching instead of their English titles. Others are free to post the actual English title. I won't mention the English title.
I'll include the above in all my Bingefest posts, so now on to what this thread will be a Bingefest on with loads of spoilers and comments too boot. You'll learn some stuff that isn't in the anime as well, as I commonly read about them too, so extra bonuses.
Itai no wa Iya nanode Bogyo-Ryoku ni Kyokufuri Shitai to Omoimasu
I'm off to watch the first episode. Yes this one is a rewatch.

Re: [Bingefest] Itai no wa Iya nanode Bogyo-Ryoku ni Kyokufuri Shitai to Omoimasu
At the beginning when Maple is choosing a class, it's more like a starting build. The game has builds not classes. But they use them interchangeably. So you can have lots of MP as a Great Shielder, so the variety of type of build you make can vastly be different. As the game lets you put your points in all 7 stats, which is strength, agility, dexterity, intelligence, vitality, hit point and magic points.
You start out with 100 points and your equipment can put them any of these 7. You only get 5 point every even level, so at 3rd level you don't get any. HP and MP don't go up per level either. So it actually doesn't make sense for player to put all their points in one of the seven. So Maple is an odd ball.
As for how Maple got Total Defense, it pretty much requires a high Vitality. Go figure. You gain Total defense by receiving attacks without doing anything for an hour, I believe. Meaning this skill is difficult to obtain.
Giant Killing is easier to get, you just have to defeat a creature that possesses 4 times your stats in like two or four stats. Which she does, and others have done this too. For Maple since she has zero in four of them Giant Killing is always active for her.

So the chats that occur in the anime are pretty much the same in the web novel, but the web novel actually names what type of weapon wielder they are, so Spear user, Great Shield user, but they are anonymous, but it does help to distinguish whom is saying what, while the anime does not. The Great Shielder who starter the topic did not tell everyone to keep on Maple and information, I believe it was the Spear user who said to do so, who ask about some awesome skill.
Another thing in the story, Maple spent what money she had at a potion store to buy healing potions, they were not given to her.

Re: [Bingefest] Itai no wa Iya nanode Bogyo-Ryoku ni Kyokufuri Shitai to Omoimasu
When Maple fights the poison Dragon, like the novel she loses her equipment from the Poison Dragon. So why isn't the poison that effective, because Vitality reduces damage taken from poison. Normally others don't have enough vitality to reduce the poison by that much. So with the poison resist, the strong poison from the Hydra was reduce by quite a bit.
So eating creatures is considered the same thing in the game as HP Drain magic. Go figure. Defeating the Poison Dragon with HP drain grants the skill Hydra Eater. Which a skill that requires loads of MP to use, which Maple doesn't have. The equipment she uses grows, are becomes strong as she levels and stronger when it breaks. Meaning more and more bonuses to vitality it breaks. So when monsters are made strong enough to break Maple's new equipment it becomes stronger to resist it. So as she fights stronger monsters so does her equipment.
Slots on equipment allows her to use a single ability from a Skill. So Hydra Eater gave her several abilities. That's why her sword used for some and her shield is used for others. She gains more of these slots as she levels up. The slots allows her to use skills that would normally cost MP like 5 times a day. This explains why uses different skills and not Hydra all the time. Though as she levels up she uses Hydra more often, so she must have used a couple to three slots just for Hydra. It is fairly good, so why not?

Just finished episode 1. Just to make a point, Maple became able to use Hydra more often later, as she gain skill to regain what little MP she had over and over again.
Re: [Bingefest] Itai no wa Iya nanode Bogyo-Ryoku ni Kyokufuri Shitai to Omoimasu
When Maple gained bomb eater in the anime she gain resistance to explosions. Nice to have, I'd say. Maple in the web novel before this occurred studied up and worked hard on gaining different types of defense skills by meeting various different conditions to gain those skills which the anime does not mention.
Eventually she gains Devouring, toward the beginning of Episode 2. Devouring is that skill a mention earlier, when ever a foe is devoured, which occurs easily Maple regains MP, and can store the extra, so there isn't a limit. Thus Devouring before it was nerf was way too powerful. She's definite OP during the first event. Since devouring has no limit on how often it is used.
In the web novel, at least the translated version Maple never talks with Risa or Sally. Like ever, until she starts playing as well. Sally's build in the Web Novel isn't called the Swashbuckler, it's the Dodger Fighter, Swashbuckler agreed is a better name. Sally does a tactical build though, so she has large variety of skills, that she uses pending on the situation.

Re: [Bingefest] Itai no wa Iya nanode Bogyo-Ryoku ni Kyokufuri Shitai to Omoimasu
So when Risa first joins, she does say in the web novel just like in the anime Maple created a Boss character, and Maple suggested she do the same. Risa said no, and typically she should play as a wizard but hated traditional tactics and wanted something challenging to play from the get go, that lots of options so she chose the Swashbuckler.
So when they headed to the lake, they stopped and fought the monsters, they didn't speed through them. Maple took off her armor so Sally could carry her, otherwise she was too heavy.
Maple is actually considered short and cute in her school. So players can't actually choose to change their appearance in the Game, Maple has a height complexity, and wanted to be taller when she created her character. But settled with being short. Risa unlike Maple is a natural athlete.

Re: [Bingefest] Itai no wa Iya nanode Bogyo-Ryoku ni Kyokufuri Shitai to Omoimasu
Here I forgot to mention the thing about the Lake, which I'm watching right now. So everyone suspected there was something going on the Lake and some type of dungeon was there, but no one knew where it was. Sally discovered it's location and it is the first to conquer it, let alone beating it on her first try and alone.
So the unique weapon and armor sets can only be obtained by defeating the dungeon the first time you try it, without dying and without anyone's help, alone. Sally's equipment is actually far stronger than Maple's when she gets it. Later Maple's set is stronger though. Sally's is indestructible and doesn't grow.

Re: [Bingefest] Itai no wa Iya nanode Bogyo-Ryoku ni Kyokufuri Shitai to Omoimasu
Even those these things are mentioned in the anime like they are in the web novel, the anime by all accounts follows the story and development as if these are indeed true and did occur.
If you follow the points Maple gain you'll notice that 5 points every even level doesn't always add up, that's because every 10 levels it's double 10 points, now that always adds up. Interesting how it isn't mentioned, but the anime tries to follow the technicalities of the web novel anyways.

Re: [Bingefest] Itai no wa Iya nanode Bogyo-Ryoku ni Kyokufuri Shitai to Omoimasu
Another interesting thing is the game Maple is playing, although she's called a newbie is only three months old when she starts playing it herself. So that really explains why the First event is just starting.
So while Maple is a newer player she practically started it nearly after it first started.

Re: [Bingefest] Itai no wa Iya nanode Bogyo-Ryoku ni Kyokufuri Shitai to Omoimasu
Just finished episode 2
Re: [Bingefest] Itai no wa Iya nanode Bogyo-Ryoku ni Kyokufuri Shitai to Omoimasu
So at the beginning of episode 3 they did two things to nerf just Maple, yes just Maple. And yes it because they didn't want anyone to be able to create an overpowered character like Maple did on pure accident.
They limited Maple's Devouring Skill to 10 times per day. By the way she had defeat like 100 monsters or something like that with just HP Drain magic, in other words she ate them. So Devouring isn't easy to get to begin with. I believe Maple was the only one who had it. And by the way she had been playing for like a week before she got it, not two days, like it was in the Anime.
Still fast. The other nerf was the game developers adding several different penetration damage skills, which bypass vitality defense. It doesn't completely bypass it, as if it did, Maple would have totally been killed, so it must just reduce Vitality's damage reduction so it can't reduce it to zero any longer.

Re: [Bingefest] Itai no wa Iya nanode Bogyo-Ryoku ni Kyokufuri Shitai to Omoimasu
Remember how I mentioned Maple is considered cute the web novel, well the web novel unlike the anime definitely has sexual innuendo and situations in it. I think I like the anime version better that doesn't include it. As it makes a solid point. It isn't needed to make a good story.
Okay so by the time episode three started, I stopped reading the web novel...
You see the translation initially wasn't so great, so it was complete pain to read it. If not for the anime, I would have never read it. The translation, however, to my amazement is a lot better in the later chapters, so I skipped a bunch. I don't where it gets good at. I'll look into it. If someone wants to know where they can find it, send me a PM, I'll send you the link.

Re: [Bingefest] Itai no wa Iya nanode Bogyo-Ryoku ni Kyokufuri Shitai to Omoimasu
So the entrance level 2 isn't mentioned in the web novel after Sally gets her cool gear, it's mentioned later, and they head for it immediately. Sally does test her illusion skill there and is the one that beats the monster.
So a lot of stuff happens in the anime that doesn't in the web novel in episode three, or perhaps it occurs later, I'm not sure. As I skipped a few. But Sally doesn't go for the Super Speed skill before they go to the 2nd level. Payne is mentioned as the first to head to first level, but it's also mentioned at this point that he's a level 60, I believe. Incredibly high level. I believe Sally and Maple is a level 30.

Re: [Bingefest] Itai no wa Iya nanode Bogyo-Ryoku ni Kyokufuri Shitai to Omoimasu
In the anime, it's apparent they didn't go much into other characters or there development, but in the web novel it definitely spends more time on other characters, which is cool. A lot of the characters in the anime do seem cool, so it's sad that the anime doesn't go into their characters that much.
