Let's Talk Graphics Tablets
If you have a graphics tablet, which one do you have? What are the pros and cons? What's your dream tablet?
I've had a Wacom Bamboo CTL471 for 6-7 years but it was just getting to the point of MEH. The wires were nearly dead and no matter how many times I uninstalled and reinstalled drivers it was just failing to function correctly anymore.
I recently bought an XP-Pen Deco 01 V2 for only £50. It feels like such a dream compared to the bamboo - the surface area is larger, the pen feels natural, it came with a glove, there's 8 times more pressure levels and more shortcuts available. There's probably more technical stuff as well that i'm not aware of, but basically, it's a lot better. Really happy with it considering the price.

Re: Let's Talk Graphics Tablets
I forget the name of the tablet I have is. But it works really well. It made doing intense GFX projects easy. You can use it to navigate with as well.
But now, I really don't do any GFXing. No time for it. Seems I have little time for anything anymore.
Considering I've had it for awhile now, I don't know how it compares to other models anymore. But it was the 2nd model I purchased. The first model was terrible, I preferred my keyboard and mouse over it. It was a cheap one though. The 2nd one I bought was a top of the line GFX tablet.
So, that's probably still true with these. If you want a GFX tablet that's any good or worth buying you have to go for a mid-grade or better, the cheap ones are complete garbage, and mouse and keyboard is better.
I'll find out what my newer model is. I threw out my old model a while go. I know it was a wacom.

See, I actually prefer to illustrate with mouse using the pen tool. Find it much more precise. But for actual SKETCHING, I need a tablet for that, that's why I missed having a functioning one so much.

Re: Let's Talk Graphics Tablets
I've been curious about getting a drawing tablet, myself. What's a good one to start with?

Re: Let's Talk Graphics Tablets
The Wacom Bamboo series is good for starters (and people who've been drawing for years) because it has everything you need without a ton of extras - i'd just recommend getting a newer model in the series, as like I said my old one had an issue with recent drivers.
I would honestly say just make a list of what YOU want in a tablet. Do you want lots of buttons? High pressure sensitivity? Low budget? See what you need, and then make your own choices from there. I found this Deco 01 V2 on a few "Best of 2019" lists for graphics tablets, and when I looked further into the features of the product decided it was right for me
