Re: Journal of Bookworms (Myne & Felia)
Previously my work was talking about having people work from home.
Management decided everyone in the front office will work from home. I think starting next week.
Vendors won’t be allowed in the building. The Lounge area will be closed.
It’s what I’ve heard. Management hasn’t told me anything.

So boring, get out and have some fun! Just really practice social distancing, and not say you will and not do it. Because everyone else is getting out too. Wait, scratch that stay at home. Seems, this is....

I had a wonderful dream last night. Lately a lot have been mundane or troubling. I suppose it reflects the stress in my life, so I must have had a good day yesterday, overall. Though it seemed to me, mostly boring.

Re: Journal of Bookworms (Myne & Felia)
I'm doing well Wicked.
Time for an update of a sort.
So I purchased the Remake of FF7 in 2016, and it wasn't canceled, so that's good. The Deluxe version and etc. up comes with a few extra perks that don't really make much of a difference gameplay, yeah some but not for dollar amount they are asking for.
So the regular version works just fine by me.
I played the original FF7 when it first came out. Long ago now. So I've been looking forward to this game for awhile. I don't get until Friday, but paying like 3 times the cost just to get one week early, well good for those who aren't patient. I've waited 4 years, what's one more week?
Anyways, I've played the Demo. The first time I played in on Expert. I didn't really have any issues beating it, even though I was still learning the system. So Expert isn't really that challenging, but its challenging enough that it can be called expert.
I haven't tried the Easy mode, as there are three modes, Classic, Easy, and Expert. Expert is the most difficult mode in the Demo. The Boss battle was a struggle, the rest not so much, challenging sure, but not that challenging.
Classic was easy, and it's suppose to be easier than the Easy mode in a way. The enemies are just as tough in easy mode etc. Classic is not turned base as others mentioned it might be. This isn't true. Your characters do normal fighting on their, evade, block, attack etc. They don't use abilities, spells, or limit breakers.
Yes it has Limit breakers, and both Cloud and Barret starts out with their classic ones, looks cooler in the Remake since the Graphics are better, at least for Cloud, I didn't get to see Barrets, he never filled his Limit breaker gauge up.
Anyways Classic allows you to interrupt the character's normal attack sequences to instruct them to use an item, Ability, spell, or limit breaker. You can't use abilities, spells, or items without filling up your ATB gauge first. Different ones I'm guessing cost a different amount of ATB, as they list their ATB cost. Right now a full ATB is two actions worth. So they should definitely be used. I'm sure as the game progresses more ATB will become available.
Attacking and blocking fills up the gauge, so this discourages evading if you need ATB. Each character has different basic attacks. Cloud and Barret won't use their powerful attacks when acting alone, you need to actually instruct them to do this by switching between them. You can't command them to use their basic strong attacks or switch between different attack modes if they have them. Barret has an Overcharge attack, that has to refill. You can't control Cloud and give him a command to use it though. You can command Barret to use a Spell, item, Ability, or Limit through a command though. Sounds a bit dumb if you ask me, but hey that's how it works. So switching between characters in combat is a must if you want to able to use the best tactics available. issuing commands does work, but only when the devastating basic attacks of other characters are not as important as their abilities, spells, items, and limits are to use.
I hope Classic will allow you to have more difficult settings, as simply a different approach to combat and making it Easy only is disappointing in the Demo. As I'll probably want to use it, as games that require constant button mashing to play are not my cup a tea, this does not make a game more challenging, no it does not. It just makes it where you hands hurt more from playing it.

My FF7 Remake came on Friday and I've been playing it since yesterday
I love it, but the battle system really irks me

Did you try in on Classic, I like the battle system better that way.
And yeah, I'm not really a fan of it either.

Classic, is the one I liked best from the Demo, you should be able to change it.
Try it out, I think you'd like that better.
That's disappointing though, I wish they had given the Classic a harder setting too.
It shouldn't be a difficulty setting, but a battle system setting instead. Shame on Squaresoft

Tbh I just think they should have given the AI a brain and do things themselves, some battles so much stuff happens and it seems you have to do everything....that's not how it should be lol
Also if I change the battle system it puts the difficulty down...
