Honestly I believe this anime is proclaiming females are complete idiots and only males are capable of logical thinking and good decisions of how we should proceed to shape our future.

The fallacy of this logic is WW are male and female and therefore both must share and shape are future.

I haven't read the LN, so I don't know, but I think that there is this trend in Japan (and elsewhere) to make female characters dumber, probably as a misguided way to appeal to the targeted male audience. I think this is shit. There are many examples of intelligent female characters from successful anime and the target male audiences were pretty happy with them being smart.

Apparently for some reason some people think that dumb means cute or sexy and attractive. I don't get it. Do many guys really want to fantasize about retards (unless it's a fetish or something)? Is their self evaluation and self-esteem so low they're afraid of intelligent women, or what? I understand fan-service, but this is something I do not understand.

Of course dumb female characters are ok if this is how the original plot goes (e.g. Aho-Girl), but changing smart characters to dumb when adapting the source material is really bad imho.

I don't know if this is what happened with this anime, but if it is, it sucks.

The females in the LN are intelligent and competent. Reina knows a lot about hunters work as she has the most experience. She keep the party informed about such matters. She also normally the one that decides which quests to take. Often though they discuss it as a group.

Mavis in order to learn swordmanship as a young girl convinced her three brothers to teach her during their spare time without the other two knowing she was going to each of them to learn.

Pauline understands the markets well, she also chants in her head while telling her enemies something else to taunt them.

Mile is book smart, she knows quite a bit about the different countries and history of the world. She's an excellent cook and quite observant of what's going on around her. She normally hangs back because she doesn't want to stand out too much or make her friends feel like they can't contribute anything at all.

Mile doesn't use magic or swords that often with the exception of her search magic, which she normally always use not every once in awhile in strikes her mood. The nanos are more like machines and normally only talks when addressed. It isn't like they are dumb but they are certainly not making fun of anyone or belittling them.

Mile's social abilities is lacking at times. The others sometimes under estimate her because she doesn't get involved that often unless she needs too. She normally fights with a sling shot not with a sword at all. Sometimes though.

As for defeating the Rock Lizard, they didn't freeze it, that plan actually failed, and they had come up with before they even fought it, it wasn't and after thought. The girls approach a fight with a plan before they attempt fighting.

Mile never hesitates during battle as she is often depicted in the anime. She does like to study unfamiliar foes but after the battle concludes.

Mile, has a weird way of talking to others at times but she is from another world. That makes sense.

I wish they had left these girls personalities and intelligent alone, and portrayed them as the author had. Instead they decided to turn them and the story into a farce which isn't what the LN story is at all..

wow! really? I have already read like 6 or 7 volumes (if no more...) of the "Web?" LN where I'm reading it, are a very short Chapters than in the printed edition by Seven Seas Ent.
Volume 5 Start (continues) with Chapter 39, and on website they mark it as 130 ... )

On the oficial translation made many changes from where I reading it. ... or it have been added for the proper LN to be published.
I thinking that the "Fan-editor/translators" skip quite a lot of text, apart of not doing a consens job, ( they change many times how the MC names wrote TT__TT) ]

But one thing is clear, this ep (#8) has been completely re-arrange the plot to fit in like a "self-conclusibe" episodic.

yep, I bought all printed ed. 1-7 on WHSmith ...
but, only received the 5th, in between, I reading on fanfedition… just funny comparing the translations.
I have a friend who was working as translator for Shojo manga. and have a little knowledge of how hard work it cut be. hehehe.
I do not like Book Walk, coz they told me ones I ask they, if the novels bought through they can't be readed in any other Efbook reader like Kindle, Kobo, Nood...
but only his mobile/tablet app, or throughout the web browser on PCzs Ｔ＿Ｔ
