My thoughts exactly! It's a fairly popular brand of cereal, same with Nature's Path.

If that's what you have to tell yourself to feel better about being doomed to only eating inferior versions of real food. HNCs taste like crappy store brand knockoffs now, when they did not used to before being reformulated to be gluten free. It's a shame because I used to love them.
If it makes you feel better in a false sense I do still eat Rice Krispies, Rice Chex, Corn Chex and Frosted Flakes on occasion.
Of course being that those are all made of corn or rice and not wheat and corn and rice are both naturally 100% gluten free, gluten was never inherently a major part of any of those, and the "removal" of the gluten when they were "reformulated" to be gluten free was actually just the companies implementating cleaning on their processing equipment to remove cross contamination. Those cereals taste the same because they are the same at their core. Kinda like how you can go to the store and buy a bag of rice that says gluten free even though rice always was, but companies like cashing in on the dieting idiots rather than real wheat allergic/celiac people such as yourself, so they'll slap "gluten free" on anything if they can. I've seen it on water bottles.

I won't argue this at all. I actually didn't know that cheerios were reformulated. The taste the same to me now as they did when I was a kid - flavorless. XD I've never been a huge fan of the cheerios but Ive always liked chex and crispix. Cross contamination is a big thing for me so I do watch out for this. That said, I don't rely on the "Gluten Free" advertising at all. The FDA regulates that title as being less than 20 ppm gluten/contaminate....which still is enough to make me symptomatic, so I label check everything, regardless of the advertising. I also think its silly to upcharge products with the gluten free label, despite it being no different that the original product without the labeling - like you suggested with the rice. I see this a lot with oats too. Oats are naturally gluten free, however you will pay $6 for this tiny thing of oats that is no different that the supersize box that is only $2. If you check the label and contamination/allergy warnings, you will find certain brands are safe that are not labeled "gluten free". It annoys me to no end that companies take advantage of medical conditions in this way. It's kinda like the pink tax. Ridiculous.
The water bottle thing is actually pretty laughable. There should be memes about that one.
