I didn't take pictures of the final product on my end. They were pretty, especially with the mushrooms and onions I did extra. I should have taken a picture.

Was everything (besides the salad which was too sour) tasty?

yeah. the burgers were better than most veggie burgers I've had, but they were still veggie burgers. Nothing amazing. But good for a decent meal, which is far better than you'd normally get buying veggie burgers.
I liked the rice. It wasn't as sweet as I expected and I was quite pleased with it. I'd want to make that again, provided other people are going to appreciate it.

I like the salad but yeah, it was too sour. Almost too sour to eat. I can eat little bits at a time though, and I will for lunches this week.

As far as your recipe is concerned, it was very good. Fortunately, mine wasn't so sour. It reminded me of another one my mom makes sometimes. I should ask her for a recipe.

I know the burgers, because I make them pretty often.

I think I made the rice for the first time myself, but I ate it many times earlier, so I know how it should taste. I am happy I managed to make it and it tasted good, considering it was my first time.

Any improvements? Changes?

I think I need to remember to add some flour, or even substitute semolina with flour. I normally don't use bread crumbs, unless I make them myself. Maybe I should. I normally use flour, but it changes the taste slightly, and I wanted to get as close to the original recipe as possible today. The recipe I normally use is slightly modified. I use flour and more dried plums, to make the plum aroma stronger. I also use more mushrooms and more onions.

In addition to that, I often coat the burgers in e.g. cornmeal to make them crispy. I think it's a good idea to do it.

As far as the rice is concerned, I might add slightly more sugar next time. But it might be my problem. My gf always says I like things sweeter than they normally are.

I don't think I'd modify the salad. I think I might remove the walnuts, but that's all. I can also try a version with both a kohlrabi and an apple. And jicama, if I ever get it.

You can do it as a part of the club as well. I will just skip this one.

I'm 3 hours from dinner right now. I shall plan.

I am making:
- catfish
- green beans
- sweet potato fries

For the reader's benefit, I'm also serving canned pears and cottage cheese, leftover rolls, leftover baked beans, and probably corn on the cob cuz my mom wanted it.

Things I have to do:
For the catfish:
- chop pistachios into fine breading. Add breadcrumbs and flour as needed. Don't forget salt and pepper.
- dry the fish steaks
- lightly fry breaded fish
- bake covered about 15 minutes. Maybe 20? Probably not, but idk

For the green beans:
Sautee onion.
Add green beans and water, cover and steam.
Add bacon pieces.
Maybe 15 minutes at most?

For the sweet potato fries:
- cut the buggers
- make a dry mixture of flour, salt, a pinch of sugar, and other seasonings, paprika and chili powder if I have it.
Oh, apparently salt should come later, and I should use corn starch. Says I should soak them first too.
Ok I need to start now then

If nothing else, I know that I still can't make sweet potato fries. I don't know why the fuck they're so difficult for me.

The fries were either slightly burnt, slightly chewy, or both. Best sweet potato fries I've ever made. I guess I'm improving?
The catfish was breaded with pistachio but I'm not sure what it did. It was good before with tilapia but the breading was with egg, this time was oil and the breading was thinner. The thicker nut breading I did with tilapia with egg binding before was better. The catfish itself was good quality though, and it was tasty.

The green beans were really good though. They were the only thing that came out perfect in this meal I think.

Actually it could be fun. Like once, for a special occasion.
I wouldn't want to do it with anything I'm not 100% sure I can nail, which is pretty much everything. So I'd probably have to do a rehearsal first.

But yeah next time we can do something vegetarian
