As far as I can tell all the chefs I know smoked weed due to the stress of the kitchen. Drug abuse and catering go hand in hand.

culinary school was simultaneously one of the best and worst choices I've ever made. I love it, and it's truly an enjoyable career if you love it. Watching the parts come together to make one magnificent whole.

However the culture in most kitchens is absolutely atrocious, and it's a hard cycle to break and even harder to ignore.


I still work with food, and I occasionally have to get in the kitchen, but it's not my primary role anymore.

The only high in our kitchen is the kind you get from caffine or sugar.....sometimes both at once....if we are feeling particularly hardcore.
