WHAT? They really want me to go back to day 12?
Ha ha, fuck you! I'll just stop playing and watch the anime instead.
Heh, another reason I don't play games.

lolin wrote:yeah, magic in the type-moon universe is actually pretty neat
there's three different grades of it, each more powerful than the last
the lowest tier uses materials to cast spells like rin does
the second tier "creates" but doesn't actually create from nothing, it borrows
the third tier which is basically lost to time creates something from nothing and is akin to godhood in magic (this spoiler's for you when you finish)Spoiler:
shirou is borderline capable of this by the end of the series
I've read the spoiler.

Now I think I should've watched the anime from the beginning instead of wasting my time on this VN.

that open-ended nature doesn't lend itself to a sense of completion

I could've watched a lot of anime instead of playing it.

They weren't bad choices. I encountered the dead end a couple of times earlier in this game, but all of the previous ones were results of some bad (or at least ambigious) choices I made and the dead ends were signalled quickly, so I just loaded the saves.

The difference is between: "I want to finish/succeed with/win/complete the game" vs "I want to read a good story"
I don't care about the first one, I only care about the second one. The choices from my perspective are only to make the game ending more satisfying to me. I do not want to "find a solution". I do not fucking care about what they think is "the solution". I just want a good story which I'd like.
I can call the first one the "gamer's approach" and the second one the "reader's approach".
Of course there's nothing wrong with either of these, but I do not do the first one, because I consider it a waste of time. It's my personal decision.
And this game just assumed I do the first one and my aim is to complete the game. But this was not my aim.

The reason I played instead of watching the anime was because it was the first thing in this universe and also because it's longer (which I hoped would equal longer enjoyment and more immersive experience) and also because it's good to do something else from time to time and also because sometimes it's fun to be able to infuence the story (e.g. to choose the waifu

Maybe I should've done more research on this one before I started. But it's difficult to do the research and not spoil anything.
