Yeah yeah. But it's more like, that was presented like it was a big deal in the music world to have probably desmond's last major visit/appearance/photoop/whatever, and last I checked there was still this rivalry thing with angela.

I like Gus' backstory. As in, it's a good character backstory. I think I like Gus as a character in general.


Both Carol and Tuesday looked really beautiful on that stage. They did really well.


I'm going to rewatch all of this when it finishes and I will enjoy it very much.

I've just finished ep. 16

Yeah, I like Gus as well. All characters in this anime are great and also realistic in many ways, but also they're good people in general. I like how they've shown that managers don't need to be conmen. I think the only truly evil person is the political adviser. I don't even see the mother as evil, she's somewhere in between on the good/evil spectrum imho. Neither the AI specialist is really evil. Angela is obviously not evil either. They're just people with different goals.

And the music is great in it. Of course not everything is my favourite style, but most songs (besides some pop stuff) are quality music.

And the emotions are there.

Gus is just such a nice person. I like him.

A very good episode imho.

I liked how they've shown how money and popularity can come and go.

But the part with the interview was even better. Kyle just wanted the last part of it (that thing that Tuesday said) and he will probably make a whole article based on that. Something like: "the daughter does not support her mother" etc. It will probably have nothing to do with music or their new album and everything to do with her mother and politics.

I really like how this anime realistically portrays the underlying structure of how things actually work, both the positive ones and the negative ones. Even simple things e.g. the fact that Angela's song is the first one and they're still pretty far in the chart, despite their song being (at least) no worse than her. We can guess it's because of the money spent on marketing of Angela, which Tao got from the investment fund. It's very interesting.

I also like the contrast between Ertegun and Desmond.

Tao is... well, I was gonna give an option but no, I guess he must be a genius if he took that stupidass looking beatbox and agreed to let him borrow Angela.
It did kinda irk me that Ertegun though of Angela while inside Carol and Tuesday's apartment, but granted, I doubt Carol and Tuesday's style really mixes in the slightest with Ertegun--Angela would do it better for sure.

I'd like to think Kyle is a nice guy and a nice reporter and not make the entire article about that. But he'll absolutely include it--even putting it in context and just letting it stand for itself, it would be impacting and Tuesday is going to suffer for it.
The resulting conflict is probably something Spencer will be drawn into. I bet he'll stay out of it at first until Tuesday is hurt by it and then he'll publicly oppose Valerie after that.

I'm surprised you didn't comment on the larger role that AI's played in this episode, since discussion on AI is something you anticipated seeing from the start. We have an instance of an AI committing financial fraud, but also the fact that since Ertegun's AI equipment was taken from him, he can't make music. I guess in one respect it's not all that different from other capital--you can't play a saxophone without financing one first, and you can't record an album if you don't have a studio.

Hey, Carol and Tuesday got to go home for a bit. Toby must have gone soft.

I don't mind Aaron being gone--he's offputting like a clean shaven pig--but I'm honestly surprised he wasn't the stalker himself.

I think Angela is similar to a session musician in many ways. With the help of AI and Tao she can probably be molded to sing many things, including Ertegan's stuff. So it makes sense to hire her instead of Carole and Tuesday. She's also more popular then them, and Ertegan is more focused on money than music. I think the difference between Carole and Tuesday vs. Angela is similar (not identical, but close to) the difference between an artist and a craftsman (or an artist musician and a session musician). They create their own stuff, Angela just sings whatever Tao or his AI produces for her (she also doesn't interpret the songs herself, but follows what Tao decides). But she does it very well of course. So I think she's actually a better option to hire for Ertegan, as you said. That's the reason why Tao didn't even asked her about it.

I think things you predicted are very probable. It was an interesting moment when Spencer "opposed" his mother. Now she's alone with no advisers around her who really have her best interests in mind. This will probably lead to her destruction. Heh, you have a good opinion about Kyle. Mine is not that good. This or that way, I enjoy how realistically in many ways he and his job is presented.

I think I didn't comment about it because it appeared obvious to me when it happened, so I had nothing to add about it. We knew from the beginning that Ertegan was mostly money focused so he used every possible way to create something which would appeal to the audience and make him money, including using AI. He got used to it after a while as it was probably much easier to use than doing things himself. Yes, it is like any other machinery, like you said. I don't think I have anything else to add. AI stealing things, that was interesting indeed. Well, if AI was smart enough they'd definitely do this if not prevented from it somehow (How? That's pretty difficult, if you ask me. People are mostly prevented from stealing either because of their own decision or because of fear of going to jail. But AI can probably transfer its mind to other bodies, so when one catches a body, it's not a problem for the AI.). The mechanism that allowed the user to see if the AI is lying was funny indeed, but not very realistic of course (one of the first things AI would do would be to disable this mechanism, unless there's something that would prevent it (what?)).
