  Spoiler:
I think it was necessary though, now we can have an entire episode and many future ones of battling with the four heroes working together

  Spoiler:
It wasn't necessary to have that much dialogue. It was repetitious. They were beating a dead horse while teh pope was chargin his lazor.

It was even less necessary to have the dialogue in the middle of a fight. Sometimes it is for artistic purposes, sure, but this wasn't such a time. The storyboard could have had the heroes hashing out their problems in a separate instance than fighting the pope, or hell, even if the storyboard was the same up to the fight, they could have put it off until later and it would have been much more believable.

Well, I guess next episode might show some reason that wouldn't have worked. But even if it was somehow necessary for the story to work, it was more tacky than most anime, and this anime tries to brand itself as a little more serious than that, so it just came off terribly. This part of the story was just not skillfully put together.

I don't remember which episode number I just watched--23 I think? The one where they started teaming up with scythe dude.
  Spoiler:
I wonder why scythe dude suddenly backed out of the party. It didn't seem like his attitude toward naofumi changed, so it must have been his plan all along.

The magic of the stone he cut seemed to surprise Naofumi. Certainly, he never mentioned enchanting it, but whatever he did to the stone apparently enhanced its magical properties. Was there such a mechanic in this world that gems naturally had some sort of magic power? I don't remember. Perhaps the increase in her magic power is affected by the quality of his craftsmanship somehow, though it seems strange that way.

I just started and I'm already at 20. I'm in a state of shock. For some reason, I really didn't think I would like this, but I was wrong.

I've watch it weekly since the beginning. I wonder how it is to binge.

I think binging most of it and then not being able to binge the last few episodes would be worse than both other ways.

  Spoiler:
there's no way your the shield hero, you have a shield with amazing abilities and hang out with the other 3 cardinal heroes but nah your just ssome kiddo with a shield.
That dude is a moron. I'm still really enjoying the story so far and adding some new characters was definitely needed.

  Spoiler:
Well, him leaving the party definitely had a feel like I know something you don't.

Maybe he actually knew he was the shield hero the whole time

Yea, it kind of is really. It felt like I ran into a brick wall. Though the binging was awesome.

I know I am a few episodes behind everyone else, but can I just say:

  Spoiler:
It was nice to see that king and princess get their comeuppance

I know right :D Naofumi made the right call though, also it showed some development in his character. Naofumi from a few episodes before would have let them die.

You are so right. I really like that. Especially because I think what makes this show special compared to other isekai is just how character driven it is.
