I loved Robotech, granted, the last time I watched it I was in Kindergarten, but still.

I found Mobile Suit Gundam 00 on Hulu and watched the first episode Celestial Being. Doesn't look at all like an 1970's anime.

lol, no, it wouldn't. It's definitely post-90's style. Not knowing the year I will guess based on the style...2006. Let's see how I did. Ha, Gundam 00 was 2007. Hit her on the bow
Gundam 00 is one of my favorite gundams though
I think I still need to see ep 3 of Gundam 0079. Has anyone finished all three yet?

Yeah, and then the younger officer shook hands with Kai instead of saluting. It's emphasizing that the crew is basically all civilian.
Well then Amuro soluted the officer dude. While glaring. Hm.

Just finished episode 3. This is actually great considering the time it was made.

It's interesting how much Char is surprised by the combat ability of Gundam and its technological superiority and that he cannot defeat it despite him being much more experienced. It's a very rare element in stories. Most works rather try to show that the most important element is the human element. But this show tells us that in this case human element is not so important. I like it. So even if one is a great hero or an experienced soldier, one cannot defeat Gundam!!!

Oh, Wikipedia says this: "The series is famous for revolutionizing the giant robot genre due to the handling of mobile suits as weapons of war as well as the portrayal of their pilots as ordinary soldiers, as opposed to the previous style of portraying hero pilots and their giant super hero robots."
