Oh without a doubt but I'm guessing that's in part due to the large desire for them :) I know for one I will buy it and add it to the collection of 'Games I need to play before I die...' :P ;)

It does. The only thing that worries me about it though is that the other SAO games uses original stories and Hollow Realization is even set in a completely original MMO. Suddenly going on to make a game that is more closely based on the story feels like a step backwards...

I have Fatal Bullet on PS4 but haven't played it for ages now, also tried a few of the mobile games but ditched them pretty quickly

Yes and no - if I'm honest, I've been wanting a game that actually follows the light novels / anime as closely as possible rather than games that are loosely based on them. I'd love to play the original story line in Aincrad for instance. So a game that follows them a little closer, I don't think it'd be such a bad thing :) That said, I've not watched the most recent season so it could be rubbish for all I know!

I think it's good to show that level of creativity and originality though, It's what has set SAO games aside game series from other anime/manga franchises. it's just that IMO if I wanted the anime story, I'd just watch the anime TBH...

I totally understand your point Kai but I also agree with toshioa in that i'd love to play through an Aincrad style world.

Hollow Fragment and Integral Factor already gives us Aincrad. that makes both a console game and a mobile game. there's also Unital Ring after Alicization so I can't see another Aincrad-based console game happening unless we get a Hollow Fragment remake

Oh I get where you're coming from and don't get me wrong, I really enjoy the SAO games as they stand :) I need to put more time in to them but I do really enjoy them. I've just had this desire to play level 1 Kirito all the way through to Heathcliff as the final boss :) If I'm honest, I didn't think much of Integral Factor which is why I stopped playing it :(

unfortunately I don't have the consoles which had Hollow Fragment. I do now have Fatal Bullet which is a lot of fun, I see you play this quite often too Kai mind if i join you sometime? :)

I played Fatal Bullet on PS4 and XBOX One but only really did it for achievements. I have the Platinum on PS4 and am nearly done with the XBOX One version and don't really plan on playing it too much more on either console. I have Hollow Realization on Steam and Switch and Re: Hollow Fragment on Steam as well. I also have both on PS4 but I'm at end game on both of those games there and don't really do multiplayer on those versions anymore. Besides Re: HF or HR on Steam if I can get some decent parties going, I don't really plan on getting heavily invested in the SAO games now until Alicization Lycoris releases in less than three months.

I'm actually quite hyped for the new SAO game. The current season is epic and too see and video game adaptation will be very cool.

I'm glad only half of the game stays close to the Light Novel story though, I just really can't stand when games have no originality from the media they were adapted from. Bonus that it will have multiplayer though. I'm a bit disappointed that the gameverse characters characters won't be in Underworld, as far as we all know as the games has introduced some amazing characters (apart from Kureha, Itsuki and Basalt Joe IMO)
