Games and there communities can really bring people together, my closest friend I met nearly 20 years ago through an online game. I've known people to meet and get married through gaming and I'm sure there are countless people with a similar story.
Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.
Most of my friends i met through games...we have an awesome time chatting everyday and playing our respective games at the same time. When we team up in coop it becomes epic fun.
I have to say it.... I see way to many console/ platform wars over which is better and it gets beyond a joke really.
I played PC, Xbox and Playstation.... Purely because i love and am addicted to gaming.
But i don't view gaming by it's platform.. i wouldn't care if i was playing on a bloody toaster...For me, it's all about the games, the stories and the experiences of it and i don't care on which platform i do it.
I personally hate exclusives, though i can understand it.... Just rather people stopped arguing like little kids over whose toy is better and just enjoy the bloody games.
"Just rather people stopped arguing like little kids over whose toy is better and just enjoy the bloody games" is exactly how I feel. I enjoy the exclusives but I don't get the whole I'm only playing on said console because at the end of the day, it plays video games just like all the other console.
It's usually because they want to own the coolest thing and some have serious brand loyalty, y'know like some get when they support something like a football team. The investment makes some people more defensive or just want to shoot new things down instead of celebrating the innovation.
I remember when Playstation first turned up and most Mega Drive owners I knew felt threatened by it.
In short, this happens because people are insecure.
I agree, Ive been involved with this fight since NES versus Master system and even the old PC war of the 80s....Atari, Amiga and Commodore etc. I go where the good games are. I play a cross platform game online (Dauntless) and have been called a console peasant a few (makes me chuckle). I play games to get away from real world conflict but somehow it still seeps in! Big up the gamerssssssss!!!!
