Re: The Rising of the Shield Hero
I thought this one would be terrible based on its intro and summary.
It turns out I believe this might be the best one that started this season.
It’s a good one.

Re: The Rising of the Shield Hero
For me the best one will probably be something else, like Domestic Girlfriend, Dororo or Kakegurui 2. But it's certainly at the top in this season. It might be the best, I agree. We'll see.

Re: The Rising of the Shield Hero
I've read a manga. Typical story where boy becomes strong tough the whole fantasy world hates him. You may think its boring, but... No. One of the most interesting stories of the genre I've read. That is an example of good author's work. Usual plot was used, but picture, heroes and the story seem to be unique and give the project its own atmosphere.

Re: The Rising of the Shield Hero
Great first two episodes. The whole scenario and execution was done better in the anime. A lot of the touching scenes with Raphtalia were several times more effective, but the manga was a bit darker and Naofumi seemed worse at communication in the manga (perhaps it was just a translation thing). Overall, anime adaption far exceeded my expectations so far. Really glad its two cour.

Re: The Rising of the Shield Hero
Yes, it is. There are 13 whole books translated for the LN, while there are only 50 chapters of the manga (36 officially translated, 50 fan translated). It is hard to tell the total pacing at this point, but I'd probably guess the anime will overtake the manga with a full 25 episodes. Also, should add that there should be enough content for another full 2 cour show soon after this one.

Re: The Rising of the Shield Hero
Even though I knew it was going to happen, Raphtalia grew up too fast D:
Overall, pretty faithful to the manga so far. Only thing that seems to have been missing in this episode is when the shop keeper suggests chain mail (which only reminded him of the betrayal). Don't necessarily think it was bad to take it out as it is already obvious how much it is affecting him.
