they're fun, but the fun varies on which one you play
tales of symphonia is probably the best one to start out with
and they're on everything from snes to ps1/2/3/4 to handhelds to pc
there's a ton of them

yep, there are more good ones than bad, the bad ones tend to be the early ones because they're very unintuitive *cough phantasia cough*
best played with a guide as they have many missables and skits to further character development

honestly there are a few games you can start out with, it's just that symphonia tends to be people's first jump into the tales series

gamefaqs employs html guides now.
you can insert images or tables if you make one yourself, seen one well put together guide too on gamefaqs.

oh nice, well the newer games will definitely have that then. it's been years since i've had to use gamefaqs
