There are times when the dub's even preferable, like watching Shin-Chan or Dragonball.
The dub to Beck was also done quite well.

A friend recently lend me "Urotsukidjo" on DVD have to watch it see whats the fuss is all about :p
It's certainly... interesting - within the first 10 minutes one of the main characters gets graped by a load of tentacles, which sets the tone for the entire film series, one of which is kinda rape-y X3
Tis this hentai?
Aye, it look like it be

for me it depends on my mood. If I’m feeling tired or feel like I can’t concentrate then I watch dubs but if I’m feeling okay then it’s 100% subs

Subs all the way as I prefer listening to the original rendition.
You can't compare someone trying to mimic or do what they think the original dub was trying to the original VAs being directed to what exactly the character should be feeling and how they should be saying the lines like it is in Japan. Just like I wouldn't want to watch Shrek in any language other than english probably, and I say that as a non native speaker.

I think some things I'll never be able to watch in sub like dbz, pokemon and others that I grew up watching in dub but starting more and more that are subs

Honestly, I have been fine with either although I have heard that there are some bad dubs out there.

@Dark_Flame_Master it really all depends for me. Sometimes subs are better than dubs and vice versa. Sometimes both the subs and dubs equally sound decent. THEN, there are dubs that sound HORRIBLE.
For example, Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge better known as "The Wallflower" in English sounds horrible dubbed. It sounds too cartoonishly generic. The same applies for Vampire Knight dubbed.
About a month or 2 ago, I contacted Viz Media and suggested that Vampire Knight needed a re-cast and a re-dub. As much as I enjoyed listening to Vic Mignogna voice Ikkaku for Bleach, his voice is highly cringeworthy.
The sound of Vic's voice is usually nails on a chalkboard for me. The same usually applies for Monica Rial and Greg Ayres. Their voices work for voicing children. Otherwise, OMG! My ears!
Several years ago, I was really surprised that Monica Rial voiced the protagonist, Michiko in Michiko & Hatchin.
Monica should've voiced School Rumble's Lala Gonzalez the same way she voiced Michiko. For once, I wanted to give her a standing ovation because Monica really CAN use a deeper voice than a screechy sound.

Personally it depends on the situation I'm 'watching' in. If I'm actively watching, then subs are fine. If I'm doing my usual and having it on as background noise whilst I do other things, then dub, since I don't have to focus on the screen to read the translation that way. There are always exceptions of course - some animes I watched younger (DBZ/ FMA for example) as I saw them/ started them in Dub, I've never really taken/had time to find them in sub, so I prefer seeing them in dub.

I can't deny it, maybe I'm just a sub elitist. Doesn't help that English is not my native language which makes it sound very weird with anime.

Brazilian portuguese. I used to like our dubs btw but I always rather watch it in the original/sub for the reasons I stated in my original answer to the topic.
