Changing postal address with Royal Mail (UK)

As I'm moving House next week (12th), I need to get all my Snail Mail redirected to the new address, I've just Googled it and with Royal Mail it'd cost £41.50 for 3 months, however this would be a permanent move.

Would there be a way to do this preferably free?

I am aware of Google and they have Postal services in North America.

What you have to do is get in touch with the main important places that you get mail from, bills etc. And inform them of the changes of address, and then with online delivery things such as Amazon just update your details via your account profiles.

When we moved a few years ago we got the redirection for a year I think it was as there's always bound to be some things that you miss when informing people of an address change.

I updated the address on Amazon this morning, tried to update it on O2 but this month's Bill comes out this week so they couldn't do the update.

I've updated eBay.

I'm trying to update E-On (Gas, Electricity provider) but I don't have an online account with them, might need to ring up (which will be an annoying conversation probably, non UK call centres are the bain of my life

) this week.

Well, unless you will be using EON at your new address, you just need to notify them that you are closing your account, and give them a final date for billing, and arrange for any meters to be read.

Any landline? Virgin/Sky? they get the same treatment.

NHS and Care Services? Try through your Doctor's Surgery, and they will need updated as well.

Benefit Agencies?

Speaking of Care Services, shouldn't they be helping you with this? They may have a service that will deal with this for you.

That would've been the plan but they don't have the staff.

As is the nature of the care sector, always has been, probably always will be.
