Which side of the family are you closer to? Mum's or Dad's?

Which side of the family are you closest to? Mum's or Dad's? Me? I've always been closer to Mum's side, as back in the 80s when my Brother and I were kids, Dad was always away all week for work, so we kind of lived with Mum, and got closer to her side of the family, me Nan, Grandad and that, obviously both sets of Grandparents are dead now, Nan Allen, Dad's Mum, died in May 1992 about a month to the day after I left school, my maternal Grandad's been dead 25 years, and my Nan Rhodes, Mum's Mum, died of Alzheimer's 6 years last month ago.

Grandad was a funny old lad, he was a Builder, as evident from the fact he used to make his own Porridge that was literally as thick as house bricks lol.

How about you guys?

My Dad was a serviceman, and we lived far away from both families, so my siblings and I grew up on our own.
