also you made me google whether or not all UKers call it a draughting table, it's a drafting table over here (i know, pesky colonials and our rearranging of perfectly english words)

Ahh yeah that was a mistake. Although it is draughting in some cases its draft as a present noun, but in the table form its drafting there. Which is a bit confusing.
Still I do have room which is helpful and hopefully I can find a use for it.
