Drink lots of coffee.

Caffeine keeps you awake, or failing that, drink a can of Red Bull (which contrary to popular belief doesn't give you wings)
I don't beee-lieve it!

Ingesting lots of caffeine may make you feel more alert, but doesn't take away the underlying cause of the tiredness.

The only remedy, if there are no medical reasons, is a good night's sleep. Preferably, more than 1.

Pick a time to go to bed, and stick to it.
Allow yourself at least 8 hours of sleep time, with settling down time added on.
NO CAFFEINE at least 4 hours before your bed time.
NO ALCOHOL. Alcohol disrupts your sleep patterns, and you will keep waking up during the night.
It goes without saying that trying to sleep with a full bladder as a non-starter. Go to the toilet before bed.
No large meals at least 4 hours before bed time. A light snack is allowed to stop your sugar levels dipping during the night (4 o'clock syndrome)
Take a warm shower about an hour before, and as your body cools down you should naturally feel drowsy. (That's why you bath babies before bed)
I know it might be difficult, but NO SCREENS during your settle-down time, and put your phone on silent.
Some anti-depressants and anti-histamines can make you drowsy and so aid sleep, but take then early so they get chance to kick-in.
Choose comfortable PJs and make sure your bedding is right for the season.
If you don't need to get up, don't set an alarm. Let yourself wake up naturally.
When you do wake up, GET UP. Do some stretches/yoga/tai-chi/Pilates and then take a shower. Have some breakfast to kick start your body, and do a crossword or some other puzzle to get your brain going, and then enjoy the rest of your day.
To those just starting on the journey of life I say...
Bang your own drum. Walk your own path. Live wildly. Love fiercely.
As you near the end, look back with no regrets.

The only things I will add to this is getting out and getting fresh air, and also to have some activity during the day. Doesn't have to be a full on workout, but something that just means you aren't sedentary, and preferably gets your heart rate up for a few minutes.
Come spook along with me
