While I was away, the biopsy results came through. Confirmation that no cancer cells were found, and I am all clear.

Edinburgh was great! It was fun being a proper tourist for once. We did the Castle and saw the Scottish Regalia. As a swordsman, the new "Elizabeth Sword" that replaces the very old sword of state just makes we want to laugh. So elaborate and ornate. It must have been a bitch to carry, as the hilt is formed from entwined thistle stems, and at 7.5 kilos it is HEAVY.

Making progress on my Knight's Costume.

I have the Great Helm, Sword, Chain Mail shirt (although mine is short sleeved), Coif, Jerkin and boots. I'm not going with the full chain mail look as it will be to uncomfortable at Cons, so I have some trousers from another costume that will do (that will also allow me to have proper pockets).

I've just ordered a foam/plastic shield that hopefully will come later this week. I will need to work out how to attach a long strap to sling it on my back when walking around.
