In it's monthly summary for May 2025, the Japanese non-profit organization Broadcasting Ethics & Programming Improvement Organization (BPO), makes a comment about teenage gambling as shown in this series.
“In a late-night robot anime, there was a scene in which a high school girl was playing online casino games. There are concerns depictions like this in a program that may be watched by minors could have a negative impact.”
Responses to the report have been varied, but generally derogatory, with references to the "Late Night" broadcasting slot, and calling out other instances where the BPO has failed to get involved in debateable content.
One comment has come out in support. An, as yet, anonymous commentator has noted "while it's difficult to steal a gun and shoot someone in Japan, using a parent or guardian's phone to log into an online casino can easily be done."
So, the idea of Teenage participation in Robot Duelling is seen as too fantastical to comment on? Are they not aware of the Road Racing and Fight Club activities going on in the country?
