We're officially moving onto Scarlet & Violet!
The set officially releases March 31st, with many stores holding pre-releases from March 18th.
Notable facts:
- This set marks the return of Pokémon-ex and is the first to feature Generation IX and the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet games.
- For international audiences, yellow borders on Pokémon TCG cards will become gray to match the cards released in Japan.
- Expansion symbols will be replaced by expansion codes and language codes across all cards.
- All cards with a Rare rarity will be holofoil in booster packs, and booster packs will now contain a guaranteed three Holofoil cards instead of only two.
- This set is the first to not be available on Pokemon TCG Online - as Pokemon TCG Live officially replaces it
Ok so the new cards are very very pretty and I love them all
I love the new reverse holos and like that they’re more common
My only real gripe with the set is how many doubles of Pokémon there are. Like did we really need 3 different basic Tarountoulas?
I would’ve liked to see those slots go to more new Pokémon that didn’t make the cut, but I suppose we’ll have to wait for the subsets to start releasing
I've been chucking a bit of time at the TCG:Live since the set went live on there. Wouldn't say I'm particularly savvy with the game as a whole, but been reasonably successful with my bastardised Origin Forme Palkia deck (until I go up against an electric deck)

I've been enjoying Arcanine EX, although tbh i'm mostly really playing with Lunatone & Solrock because i've not had time to test new decks
