No, you don't. It is similar to FullMetal: Brotherhood. It follows the original to a certain extent and then changes a few things, but it is more compact and I say better than the original as there is a lot less filer. Plus the animation is lovely!

Ok good. And Hulu has it so I can see it without spending more $$$$ Although I'm gonna have to get CR at some point.
