Personally it took me a while but oh my god its worth it. Might help to start renovating already having some idea on what you want on your island. Even if its just a rough idea

I prioritise practicality. My main concern was to have a place I could stick all my villagers and my shops neatly so that I'm not running round all over trying to find that elusive villager only to find they aren't home!

A big priority was to make the secret cove more accessible, by terraforming the area to allow room for a slope. Then I wanted to make sure that each part of my island was accessible without poles or ladders.

Finally I made sure there was enough room for my giant cactuar art!

I do love how long my controller lasts though, it gets hoursssss and only takes 10-15 mins to fully charge
