I forgot fb likes to argue about lgbt stuff
my status was the following:
“ Bisexual means you are sexually attracted to two or more genders. For example, if you are mostly attracted to girls, but sometimes men, that would be bisexual.
Pansexual means you are sexually attracted to people regardless of gender. This means that you don’t typically prefer/lean towards one gender, and/or that gender is not a factor in your attraction.
Neither of them are transphobic. They are similar, but not the same.
Thank you for coming to my TED talk.”

To be fair, out of the two people who disagreed with it, one person is just a shitposting account and the other one just showed he’s transphobic so I think it’s safe to say most people agree with my explanation haha

If it was just two shitters, why did it become 76 posts?
Rhetorical question of course. Because people on Facebook/Twitter/Reddit are mentally incapable of just not fucking replying.

I think bisexual also (and originally) means attracted to both sexes (or to be specific to both types of external appearance of typical sexual characteristics).
Attraction to genders is a new linguistic invention. It's technically possible to be attracted to genders, as it is possible to e.g. be attracted to other things in people (e.g. fatness), but I suppose it's more rare that being attracted to complexes of sexual characteristics.
So the original idea was that because there are two sexes and the sexual characteristics are almost always different between these, there can be 4 types of sexuality:
- asexual (no attraction)
- androphilia (attraction to male-typical sexual characteristics e.g. a penis)
- gynephilia (attraction to female-typical sexual characteristics e.g. a vagina)
- bisexual (attraction to both male-typical and female-typical sexual characteristics)
It's a bit more complicated if one is attracted to only some male-typical and some female-typical ones, or if one is attracted/not attracted to people with differences in sex development. Based on that, pansexual is a type of bisexual.
In my opinion there should be new words for attraction to genders, as they're not the same as attraction to sexual characteristics and new words would not create confusion we're experiencing right now.

I mean in CL we'll just fart 76 posts into any thread so yeah.
I forgot fb likes to argue about lgbt stuff
Unless it's one of my threads no one posts in those.

Even I abandon my own threads.

Also about the "transphobic" bit. Often people on social media accuse other people of transphobia without good evidence. What was the transphobic element in the comment?
