a study in pokemon drawings: the zergrush story (art, many large images)

Post by lolin » 03 Oct 2016, 15:50

here's where i post pokemon drawings and sometimes not pokemon drawings

the human figure is something i largely struggle with but then again i don't draw everyday like i should

should get on that but first i need more discipline (which is hard enough to come by)

most of these are roughly unfinished, largely due to the fact that i don't know how to color digitally, and there they will stay until i learn

bulbasaur

chii from chobits (very rough sketch, you can see me struggling with human form even in a chibi, just a bit)
Image

this was maybe day 4 or 5 of using my drawing tablet for a week and you can really see the improvement from the bulbasaur i chose to draw first (it's an ivysaur)
Image

i actually like this pikachu, felt i did pretty well, though i messed up a bit on the outside form and the hands

a cubone i drew for orange/zach Orange

Must say, these are better than you claimed. Even your non-pokemon is recognizable as the character. I'm sure your human form drawings will get much better.

The drawings are great. Maybe try colouring in with pencil. I'm not very good at colouring digitally either. Everytime I try it always looks like a mess. Chii <3

whoo boy

looked up when i last drew (i label all my digital art with dates) and it's been four months

my skills have certainly deteriorated

here's a clefairy via a suggestion from maiko-chan

Image

going to do another pokemon here soon off another maiko suggestion

also it looks different because i'm trying out a new art program

open canvas over photoshop

photoshop has this really annoying feature where sometimes i put down my pen and it draws a straight bold line and it happens so often i had to change

if anyone knows how to turn that off that'd be just peachy because opencanvas is just alright so far

the chansey came out kinda wonky but maiko approved of it so whatevs

Image

then daili lama wanted a trubbish so i did that one too

Image

the trubbish came out much better so i think i'm getting back into it

helped that i drew more from my shoulder than from my wrist for the outside lines

the face came out looking more mole than fox and the eye make it looks like an alien but it's alright

Image

overall i learned quite a bit from this one and felt like i was using more of the program's capabilities to their fullest

that makes sense, she looks like she's ready to school people on proper mosh technique

in all seriousness though, I love her :3
