Hi guys! 

How're you all doing?

So I'm new here and thought i'd share some of my art and see what you guys think. Any criticism is welcome as I'm trying to get better.

Wow, your grasp on human anatomy is pretty good. The colors are vibrant, your shading is smooth and seamless.

Your ability to make those sparks in the second one glow is also quite good.

I suppose if I had any criticism, it would be the light effects on the metal in the third picture. It looks really matte, which it could be, but it might do to really try to get a glint on it.

Thanks for pointing that out, I should have put some harsher shadows to give the feel of a reflective surface, but I couldn't think of how to do it at the time! I tried to compensate by giving the highlights an outer glow but it just didn't give the pop I wanted.

Seriously, these are amazing. You’ve got a great grasp on human anatomy that I don’t have , and the fact that you make your own characters too makes it even more awesome.

I just make fan art. Lol

Do you work from references too?

Hahaha thanks! When it comes to reference, I'm lucky enough to have a huge mirror in my room that I use to recreate the pose I want, then its just a case of taking a photo of that pose and then sketching it out.

Fan art is also great because you can see another artists take on your favourite characters!

Oh wow! This is really great stuff

If I had to give criticism I would say just keep practicing with light. There are some spots where there could have been a bigger emphasis on shadows, to make it look more natural.

I like all three, they really look great and they really pop.

@GraceMelody thank you. I hear you, i get really scared with light because i don't want it to overpower the whole piece but, it always comes out dull, so i'll try and be a bit more liberal with it in future.
