The Reflection Talks

Have you ever stared into a mirror and wondered if someone was staring back?
I have. I've always wondered about things like that.
The impossible becoming possible or the never defying its owners words.
I wonder about the future and think about what I can expect.
Can the future be so easily predicted? I stare back into a mirror.
I wonder if the mirror can give me the answers I seek.
But all I see if my own reflection.

They say the eyes are in window into the soul.
I wonder if someone looks into my eyes what do they see.
Is my soul even there or it just a random saying?
Again I look into a mirror and hoping for an answer.
All I see looking back is my own reflection.

They say it is the past that defines our futures.
That our actions shape the course and help us to lead the way.
Does the future go in different directions or is it a straight line?
I wonder if the future can just be so simple
perhaps one day we will have all the answers we seek.
Will it make us happy or put us into despair?
Again I'm attracted to the mirror and praying for an answer.
But all I see is my own reflection.

Perhaps the mirror has a point.
Perhaps it is us that have the ability to shape our own futures.
Maybe that's just how simple it actually is.
The power of the future is in our hands
Maybe it has always ever been in our own hands.
Maybe we over think the simple things.
I'm no longer looking into the mirror.
Because now I understand what it all means.
What my own reflection has been trying to tell me.
