hah, i swear!

i wanted to make them look "natural", at least as natural as anime gets

if i'm going to draw the human form, i'd prefer to get it right

Great job on the last drawing! Measuring is really helpful and helps a lot with proportions. I usually set my reference to half the size of my paper and work on a 1:2 ratio.

Great to see more shading coming out. Straight lines are good if you want to do hatching-style which can be really effective. Small circles are good if you want to do block areas and start getting more tones into an area too, something I've had to learn recently. Great improvement though, keep it up!

thanks natty! : D honestly, it means a lot coming from you 'cause you're pretty phenomenal already

i have considered doing hatching/cross-hatching 'cause that's what i learned to do in art classes, but haven't really tried them recently (but i know they CAN look good, even better than my current shading)

...okay maybe they're a little bit large in the reference too

Aha thanks bud, I'm just happy to help where I can! I think it's at least worth trying hatching to see if you enjoy it more than anything, you can develop your style to how you want it after all.

So, I haven't shaded this one yet, but intend to at some point (oh man let's see if I actually do).

Suggestion from a friend. Angie Thompson from the Trauma Center series.
