Two construction kits I picked up for Rick and Morty - You Can Run But You Can't Hide & The Discreet Assassin.
They're very similar to more popular building sets, which I will not name here.

Pretty cool. I am not a fan of Rick and Morty though.

Re: Expendable's Little Blue Box
So I found a roombox kit that looked interesting, advertized as a library, it's really called "Sam's Study."
It arrived Friday, and I've managed to paint most of the base and two walls. The paint they provided was eggshell, but I didn't like the holidays or the places where I could see the original board underneath after two layers, so it got a spray coat of white enamel. I'm tempted to find another color, something warmer, to paint the wall panels with.
I've also started assembly of the first cabinet. The blue cabinet has a clear plastic sheet inserted as a window.
This is the first cabinet assembled. As you can see, this looks nice together. However, there's a gap between the two angled bookshelves. I'm likely to fill the gap with a thin square dowel.
I had a mishap during construction, as it wasn't clear on how this all fits together, there are little tabs in the bottom piece that go to the back, and I put together the big left bookcase backward. So I disassembled the unit before the silicon glue set, and put it together right. However, I didn't have anything to mop up the silicon glue, so I had to run out for cotton swabs and rubbing alcohol to clean up the dried glue.
Sadly, the rubbing alcohol also removes some of the pigment from the boards. I will probably have to touch this up before I put the books in.
The applicator tip for the glue is not very good, I'm going to have to find something finer or just use flat toothpicks dipped in the bottle. And a squaring jig. Definitely a squaring jig.

A few more bookcases completed
The wood is warped slightly on some of these, good thing I have full scale drawings. Just need a nibbler tool for the notches.

You're very kind. It looked fun and I thought a roombox that wasn't virtual might be fun to try. I found a better applicator bottle but the way some of the wood is warped is making it difficult. Fortunately I have a few pages of life-sized drawings so I can try to make my own copies.

Re: Expendable's Little Blue Box
The wood for the miniature bookshelves are bendy, and need some help to straighten up. One of the things that can help is a magnetic gluing jig - basically a metal tray with flat sides and some magnets to hold the piece in place as it dries. And they typically run about $35. Now, I like the cut out on one end where you can stick things past the edge, but I just need the flat sides.
Upcycled large tin box
Four tiny spring clamps $1.96
Two large rectangular ceramic magnets $1.98
Six ceramic magnets $1.98
Tube of superglue $2.99
Pack of a dozen 1 inch wooden blocks $4.99

Re: Expendable's Little Blue Box
Working on my concept for an expanded bunk for my UN Spacy collection.
Something I do while I'm waiting for the weather to improve so I can paint my room box.
Mostly I came up with a drawer unit that I could put together to form the base of the bunk. Next will be the supporting ends and a side-shelf unit.

Re: Expendable's Little Blue Box
Thanks. I've done branching before to build components, but I don't often show it.
Currently I'm debating with myself about the drawers in the bunk base. Slid out, they take up a lot of room.
