I'm after making an adult version of this...

I'd like to create an adult version of the above, I've bought 2.5 metres of fabric from Hobbycraft for the big wings, where would I get the wooden sticks to extend the wings due to my rather short arms?

I need this for an event next weekend.

I found some wooden Dowling Rods on Amazon last night, 100 for £7.95 so I bought them, they're coming to the Flat today.
