Collected it from Pond Street Post Office this morning, tried to get into it and it won't fit as it's far too tight! I wouldn't mind but they didn't have the extra large in stock at Joke.co.uk and I've been buying from them for years with no problems.
Would it be possible to alter a LARGE 2nd skin Batman costume to fit a 5'5" fat bloke?

Unless they have left a lot of excess material in the seams, I wouldn't have thought so.
